Ms. Cheney was born on July 28, 1966, in Madison, Wisconsin to former Vice President Dick Cheney (Father) and former Second Lady Lynne Cheney (Mother).

After working at the US Agency for International Development, she was appointed by a consulting firm named Armitage Associates LLP which was founded by Richard Armitage. Fast forward time, Liz then goes on to work as a Defense Department official and years later worked as the Deputy Secretary of State.

Once Cheney completed her law school, she wasted no time and started practicing law from the firm of White & Case.  She also worked as an international law attorney and consultant and was one of the members of the World Bank Group. She was then hired as the Special Assistant of the Deputy Secretary of State and the USAID officer in U.S. embassies.

Liz channeled and assigned money to be distributed amongst the prescreened groups.

She worked at the State Department for two years and then left the job to work for the Bush – Cheney 2004 reelection campaign and took part in the “W Stands for Women” campaign.

On February 14, 2005, she returned to the U.S. State Department and was elected as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State For Near Eastern Affairs and the Coordinator for initiatives Broader Middle East and North Africa. 

She worked alongside her then Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, C. David Welch. During her time in the position, Liz planned, coordinated, encouraged democracy, and tried to extend the educational opportunities and improve economic conditions in the Middle East and North Africa.
